Watsu - Freeing the body, embracing the
heart
Imagine being floated
in warm water heated to your body temperature, feeling the
warmth enveloping you, as you are being held and moved through
the water in various positions.
Here in the water with a trained Aquatic Bodytherapist you
can allow yourself to drift into deeper levels of relaxation,
while your body is stretched and massaged into a new level
of being, where there is such joy, peace and wholeness.
Watsu applies principles of Zen Shiatsu, it incorporates
stretches, which release blockages along our meridians,
the channels through which our "chi" or life force
flows.
New life is stretched into long neglected connective tissue
and the body is shown possibilities of freedom.
The continuous support of the warm water is ideal for freeing
the spine,as it allows the spine to be moved in ways impossible
on land. Weight is taken of the vertebrae and relaxes muscles
by removing excess pressure from the nerves. It improves
functioning of the whole body's system and organs which
are served through those nerves.
An increased experience of flexibility reprograms a receiver
to face life out of the water with greater equanimity.
Watsu is a form of bodywork going beyond just the physical,
it reaches a deep place within without trying to alter,
change analyze or modify. It teaches us acceptance and being
in flow with ourselves. Watsu provides a space for a deeper
connection with ourselves and existence. We can find ourselves
held, supported and receptive to a flow and freedom in the
body, which some compare to how it must have felt in the
womb, others feel as if they are floating in the universe
or simply held in mothers arms.
The experience of Watsu is unique to each receiver and and
no two people's experiences are exactly the same.
Watsu is so multidimensional it expands our awareness into
a new level of being and experiencing.
In the depth of presence with ourselves we find healing,
peace and oneness with existence.
